Yang-ju City Holds Policy Discussion with Gyeonggi Province Assemblymen to Secure National and Provincial Funds
Yang-ju City held a policy discussion meeting with Gyeonggi Province Assembly members on the 21st at the situation room on the 2nd floor of City Hall, and discussed cooperation measures to smoothly promote major local issues and secure national and provincial funds.
The meeting was attended by Yang-ju Mayor Jeong Deok-yeong, Gyeonggi Province Assemblymen Chae Jeong-seon, Jeong Seok-won, and Choi Su-yeon, as well as division chiefs, department heads, and office directors of Yang-ju City.
The city explained a total of 29 projects including 7 major national and provincial projects and 22 major provincial projects, and requested active interest and support from the Gyeonggi Province Assembly for smooth project implementation.
Major national and provincial projects include △promotion of Yang-ju Hoeamsa Temple Site World Heritage registration △construction of Dobongsan-Okjeong metropolitan railway △construction of Okjeong-Pocheon metropolitan railway △Seoul metropolitan area express railway (GTX) C line (Deokjeong-Suwon) △securing public beds for establishing a mental health emergency response system in Yang-ju City, and others.
Major provincial projects include △support projects for areas near military bases △youth work experience pilot project for social solidarity economy △small-scale dredging projects for local rivers △Sanbook urban regeneration project △support for emergency medical care facilities in the neglected northeastern region △Gyeonggi Province farmer and fisher income support program, and others.
Participants reviewed the necessity and progress of projects centered on those closely related to citizens' lives, and discussed practical solutions including securing national and provincial funds and improving systems. They also agreed to continue communicating and cooperating for regional development.
Yang-ju Mayor Jeong Deok-yeong stated, "Timely resolution of major issues and stable financial resources are more important than ever for Yang-ju City's continued growth and improved quality of life for citizens," and added, "We will work closely with Gyeonggi Province assemblymen to do our best to secure national and provincial funds and resolve pending issues so that the projects discussed today lead to tangible results that citizens can feel."
