Yangju City Holds Policy Meeting with Gyeonggi Provincial Assemblymen to Secure National and Provincial Funds

Yangju City held a policy meeting with Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly members on the 21st at the situation room on the second floor of city hall to discuss cooperation measures for the smooth implementation of major regional issues and securing of national and provincial funds.

Yangju Mayor Jung Deok-young attended the meeting along with Gyeonggi Provincial Assemblymen Chae Jung-seon, Jung Seok-won, and Choi Su-yeon, as well as department heads and office leaders of Yangju City.

The city explained a total of 29 projects, including 7 major national and provincial fund projects and 22 major provincial fund projects, and requested active interest and support from the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly for smooth project implementation.

Major national and provincial fund projects include △promotion of Yangju Hoeamsa Temple Site World Heritage inscription △construction of Dobongsan~Okjeong metropolitan railway △construction of Okjeong~Pocheon metropolitan railway △Seoul Metropolitan Area Express Railway (GTX) C line (Deokjeong~Suwon) △securing public hospital beds for establishing Yangju City's mental emergency response system.

Major provincial fund projects include △support for areas around military bases △youth employment experience pilot project for social solidarity economy △small-scale dredging project for local rivers △Sanbuk urban regeneration project △support for emergency medical care institutions in the underserved northeastern region △Gyeonggi Province farm and fishery income support project.

Participants reviewed the necessity and implementation status of projects centered on those closely related to citizens' lives and discussed practical solutions including securing national and provincial funds and improving systems. They also agreed to continue communicating and cooperating for regional development going forward.

Yangju Mayor Jung Deok-young said, “Timely resolution of major issues and securing stable financial resources are crucial for Yangju City's continued growth and improvement of citizens' quality of life,” adding, “We will make our best efforts to secure national and provincial funds and resolve pending issues by working closely with Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly members so that the projects discussed today lead to tangible results that citizens can feel.”
