Gyeonggi Province Conducts Safety Inspection Ahead of BIGBANG Goyang Concert
Gyeonggi Province conducted a preliminary inspection on the 18th for safety management at the concert venue and prevention of crowd crush accidents ahead of the BIGBANG Goyang concert, which is expected to draw a large number of spectators.
The BIGBANG World Tour concert in Goyang will be held for three days from the 21st to the 23rd at Goyang Sports Complex, and is expected to attract approximately 36,000 spectators per day on average.
On the day, Gyeonggi Province inspected safety conditions inside and outside Goyang Sports Complex and discussed safety measures for the concert with Goyang City and concert-related parties.
In preparation for the possibility of spectators concentrating during specific time periods before and after the concert, the province focused on checking the spectator entry process, movement routes, and crowd crush risk factors around the venue. Through an on-site meeting, they also verified whether crowd accident prevention measures that could occur during spectator movement would function properly on-site.
Kim Gyou-sik, Director of Safety Management at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "For large-scale concerts where crowds concentrate, thorough preparation for facility safety as well as the process of numerous spectators moving simultaneously is important." He added, "We will carefully supplement risk factors confirmed on-site before the concert and re-examine the coordination system between relevant agencies to ensure that spectators can safely enjoy the concert."
Gyeonggi Province plans to continuously share safety management matters with Goyang City and concert-related parties through the 23rd when the concert concludes, and will strengthen on-site-focused preliminary safety management for large-scale concerts and local festivals expected to draw large crowds.
