Gyeonggi Province Conducts Safety Inspection Ahead of BIGBANG Concert in Goyang
Gyeonggi Province conducted a preliminary safety inspection on the 18th to prepare for the BIGBANG concert in Goyang, which is expected to draw a large number of spectators, and to prevent crowd crush accidents.
The BIGBANG World Tour concert in Goyang will be held at Goyang Sports Complex for three days from the 21st to the 23rd, with an expected average daily attendance of approximately 36,000 spectators.
Gyeonggi Province inspected the safety management conditions inside and outside the concert venue and discussed safety measures in preparation for the concert with Goyang City and concert organizers.
In preparation for the possibility of spectators concentrating during specific time periods before and after the performance, the province focused on inspecting the spectator entry process, movement routes, and crowd crush risk factors around the venue. Through an on-site meeting, they also verified whether crowd accident prevention measures that could occur during spectator movement would function properly on-site.
Kim Kyou-sik, director of Gyeonggi Province's Safety Management Office, stated, "Large-scale concerts with concentrated crowds require not only facility safety but also thorough preparation for the process of many spectators moving simultaneously." He added, "We will carefully supplement any risk factors identified on-site before the concert and recheck the cooperation system between related agencies to ensure that spectators can safely enjoy the performance."
Until the 23rd when the concert concludes, Gyeonggi Province will continuously share safety management matters with Goyang City and concert organizers, and plans to strengthen field-based preliminary safety management for concerts and regional festivals expected to draw large crowds.
