Gyeonggi Province Conducts Safety Inspections Ahead of BIGBANG Goyang Concert
Ahead of the BIGBANG Goyang concert, which is expected to attract a large number of spectators, Gyeonggi Province conducted preliminary inspections on the 18th to ensure venue safety management and prevent crowd crush accidents.
The BIGBANG World Tour concert in Goyang will be held over three days from the 21st to the 23rd at Goyang Sports Complex, with an average of approximately 36,000 spectators expected per day.
On that day, Gyeonggi Province inspected safety management conditions inside and outside the venue at Goyang Sports Complex and discussed safety measures for the concert with Goyang City and concert organizers.
In preparation for the possibility of spectators concentrating during specific times before and after the concert, the province focused on checking spectator entry processes and traffic flows, as well as crowd congestion risk factors around the venue. Through on-site meetings, it also verified whether crowd accident prevention measures that could occur during spectator movement are properly functioning in the field.
Kim Kyou-shik, director of Gyeonggi Province's Safety Management Office, stated, "Large-scale concerts with concentrated crowds require thorough preparation not only for facility safety but also for the process of many spectators moving simultaneously." He added, "We will carefully supplement any risk factors identified at the site before the concert and recheck cooperation systems among relevant agencies to ensure spectators can safely enjoy the concert."
Gyeonggi Province plans to continuously share safety management matters with Goyang City and concert organizers through August 23rd when the concert concludes, and will strengthen on-site preliminary safety management for large-scale concerts and local festivals with expected large crowds.
