Kim Han-seul, Gyeonggi Province Councilor, Elected Chairman of People Power Party National Young Local Councilors Association

Kim Han-seul, Gyeonggi Province Councilor (People Power Party·Proportional Representation), has been elected chairman of the People Power Party National Young Local Councilors Association.

According to the People Power Party and others on the 21st, Councilor Kim won a total of 69 votes in the chairmanship election held that day for young local councilors from metropolitan and basic assemblies nationwide, defeating the second-place candidate by 9 votes and winning the position.

Three candidates, including Councilor Kim, Kim Jae-in, Seoul Nowon-gu Councilor, and Bae Kwan-gu, Busan City Councilor, registered as candidates and competed in this election.

The People Power Party National Young Local Councilors Association is a council of young local councilors from the party active in metropolitan and basic assemblies nationwide. Councilor Kim plans to lead the association going forward and work on policy exchanges among young local councilors and revitalization of youth politics within the party.

Councilor Kim graduated from Yonsei University and earned a Master's degree in Social Entrepreneurship MBA from KAIST Graduate School and a Master's degree in Public Administration from Seoul National University Graduate School of Public Administration. After working as an EBS representative lecturer and entrance exam consultant, he entered politics by being elected as a Guri City Councilor in 2022.

During his tenure as a Guri City Councilor, he raised public awareness of institutional considerations for visually impaired test-takers on the College Scholastic Ability Test and countermeasures for the high school credit system, engaging in legislative activities centered on education.

Ahead of this year's June 3 local elections, he won first place in the public audition for young proportional representative candidates for metropolitan councilors conducted by the People Power Party central party, passing three stages of evaluation. Subsequently, he received the 4th position on the proportional representation candidate list and entered the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly.

He is currently serving on the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly's Planning and Finance Committee, and recently personally created and released a website called 'Gyeonggi Province Debt Map' that allows one to check at a glance Gyeonggi Province's debt, fund status, and local bond utilization.

Councilor Kim expressed his aspirations, saying, "I will create a venue where young councilors can exchange ideas and grow," and "I will do my best to unite regardless of differences in thoughts and tendencies."
