Gyeonggi Province Councilor Kim Han-seul (People Power Party, proportional representation) has been elected chair of the People Power Party's National Young Local Councilors Council.

According to the People Power Party on the 21st, Councilor Kim secured a total of 69 votes in the council chair election held that day for young local councilors from provincial and municipal assemblies nationwide, defeating the second-place candidate by 9 votes and winning the position.

Three candidates, including Councilor Kim, Seoul Nowon-gu Councilor Kim Jae-in, and Busan City Councilor Bae Gwan-gu, registered as candidates and competed in the election.

The People Power Party's National Young Local Councilors Council is a deliberative body of young party-affiliated local councilors working in provincial and municipal assemblies nationwide. Going forward, Councilor Kim plans to lead the council while promoting policy exchanges among young local councilors and revitalizing youth politics within the party.

Councilor Kim graduated from Yonsei University and earned a master's degree in Social Entrepreneurship MBA from KAIST Graduate School and a master's degree in Public Administration from Seoul National University Graduate School of Public Administration. After serving as a representative instructor at EBS and working as a college admissions consultant, he entered politics after being elected as a Guri City Councilor in 2022.

During his tenure as a Guri City Councilor, he conducted legislative activities focused on the education field, bringing to public attention issues regarding institutional considerations for visually impaired test-takers on the College Scholastic Ability Test and responses to the high school credit system.

In preparation for the June 3 local elections this year, he won first place at the public audition for proportional representative candidates for provincial councilors conducted by the People Power Party's central office after passing three rounds of evaluation. He subsequently received the fourth proportional representative candidacy slot and entered the Gyeonggi Provincial Council.

Currently serving on the Planning and Finance Committee of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, he recently created and released a website called the 'Gyeonggi Province Debt Map,' which allows users to see at a glance Gyeonggi Province's debt, fund utilization status, and local bond usage.

Councilor Kim expressed his aspirations, stating, "I will create a platform where young councilors can exchange ideas and grow," and added, "I will do my best to unite everyone regardless of differences in thought and orientation."
