Anseong City Holds Entrance Ceremony for 'Anseong Middle-aged and Older Adults Happiness Campus'
Anseong City announced on the 20th that it held the '2026 Anseong Middle-aged and Older Adults Happiness Campus Second Half Entrance Ceremony' at the International Convention Center on the 2nd floor of the AI Future Hall at Hankyong National University, and officially launched the second half educational programs for middle-aged and older adults.
The entrance ceremony was attended by approximately 160 people including Anseong Mayor Kim Bo-ra, Hankyong National University President Kim Chan-gi, Anseong City Council Speaker Ban In-sook, students, and officials from related organizations. The event proceeded with opening remarks and introduction of guests, welcoming addresses and congratulatory remarks, commemorative photo sessions, followed by joint performances by new and continuing students, introduction of the Happiness Campus, and an introductory lecture.
In the second half of this year, a total of 180 people registered for 11 regular programs. In particular, the university expanded programs for substantial skill development beyond hobby and liberal arts education, including certification acquisition, professional technical training, and strengthened digital competencies.
Certification programs include △Spoon Percussion Instructor Level 1 △Catering Chef △Elderly Cognitive Training Instructor Level 1 △Book Play Instructor Level 2. Additionally, through the △Coffee Machine Repair Technician program, students learn the structure of semi-automatic espresso machines and practical repair techniques on-site, and education programs such as △Slow Aging Recipes △Vocal Training △Anseong Cultural Artisan Class are also conducted to apply learning to daily life and culture.
In particular, this year, new AI education programs for middle-aged and older adults were developed to strengthen AI utilization capabilities, a key direction of city policy. The 'AI Kindergarten' is a foundational course that helps citizens new to AI easily and familiarly utilize AI in their daily lives using smartphones and PCs, while the 'Completing Personal Branding Using AI' program is a practical training course where participants directly create content such as short-form videos and AI music by using AI to transform their personal strengths and experiences into brands.
Through these educational programs, Anseong City plans to support middle-aged and older adults not merely as beneficiaries of education, but to grow as active subjects in the local community by connecting their experience and competencies to new employment opportunities and social contributions.
Anseong Mayor Kim Bo-ra stated, "Middle-aged and older adults are important assets of our local community with long-standing experience and expertise," and added, "I will actively support middle-aged citizens so that the capabilities they acquire and develop at the Happiness Campus lead to new job opportunities and social contributions, enabling them to become confident and active members of the local community."
