Suwon Special City Council Member Kim Eun-su Inspects Safe School Routes at Songjung Elementary School
Kim Eun-su, a councilor at Suwon Special City Council (People Power Party, Pajang·Songjuk·Jowon 2), visited Songjung Elementary School on the 20th to conduct an on-site inspection aimed at creating a safe commuting environment for students and resolving pending issues around the school.
This on-site visit was undertaken to directly confirm environmental and pedestrian conditions near the school, including the problem of garbage accumulation occurring on school routes around Songjung Elementary School, and to develop improvement measures.
Councilor Kim Eun-su examined the garbage accumulation situation in the Nososong area surrounding Songjung Elementary School and emphasized the need to review cleaning and management systems to ensure a more pleasant and safe environment on the school route used daily by students.
He also requested consideration of installing information signs that help students and residents easily understand the historical significance of the old pine tree and the history of King Jeongjo. The intent is not merely to preserve an old tree but to utilize it as a regional historical and cultural resource, transforming it into an educational space for students and a destination for residents. Additionally, he requested further review of safety measures such as reinforcing safety fences in front of the school.
Councilor Kim stated, "Since the school route that students traverse daily can directly impact safety even with minor inconveniences, it is important to directly examine and improve conditions on-site." He added, "From resolving garbage accumulation issues to improving pedestrian environments and installing signage that raises awareness of the region's historical value, I will continue to coordinate with relevant departments to ensure tangible changes that both students and residents can feel."
