The Gyeonggi Provincial Council Democratic Party's Fiscal Soundness Task Force (co-chairs: Jang Han-byeol, Overall Policy Director; Kim Tae-hee, Policy Committee Chair) held a 'Policy Forum on Gyeonggi Province's Fiscal Diagnosis and Improvement Tasks' in the main conference room on the 20th.
The forum was organized to comprehensively diagnose Gyeonggi Province's fiscal conditions and financial operations, and to seek sustainable fiscal stabilization measures through collaboration between the Gyeonggi Provincial Council and fiscal experts.
Prior to the forum, Representative An Gwang-ryul stated, "The Gyeonggi Provincial Council Democratic Party's Fiscal Soundness Task Force has been working diligently toward the goal of sustainable fiscal stabilization that protects residents' lives since its launch on July 29th." He added, "I hope that the insights and proposals discussed here will serve as a reliable compass for the fiscal policies the Democratic Party will pursue, the September supplementary budget review, and the deliberation of the 2027 budget. The Democratic Party will concentrate all its capabilities to ensure that these discussions lead to substantive institutional improvements and budget efficiency."
At the forum, Kim Tae-hee, co-chair, served as moderator, while Professor Ra Hwi-moon from the Department of Public Administration at Sungkyul University presented the keynote address titled 'Fiscal Diagnosis of Gyeonggi Province and Sustainable Fiscal Soundness Solutions.'
Thereafter, Professor Shin Yu-ho from Dankook University's Graduate School of Public Management, Deputy Research Fellow Choi Jeong-woo from the Local Finance Research Center of the Korea Local Administration Research Institute, Committee Chair Lee Chae-myeong from the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education's Budget and Settlement Special Committee, and Director Seo Bong-seok from the Gyeonggi Provincial Council's Budget Analysis Division participated as panelists, continuing spirited discussions.
Co-chair Jang Han-byeol stated, "Given that various meaningful alternatives regarding the diagnosis and solutions to Gyeonggi Province's fiscal situation have been produced at today's forum, we plan to organize the contents and announce a diagnosis and solutions concerning Gyeonggi Province's overall finances."
Co-chair Kim Tae-hee also said, "Through three rounds of meetings and policy forums, countermeasures to resolve fiscal issues have been explored to a certain extent." He added, "The Fiscal Soundness Task Force will hold one more meeting to develop measures that both the council and Gyeonggi Province can take to address fiscal problems."
