Suwon Nanurei Hospital Recruits Dr. Kim Kyung-tae, Authority in Spinal Endoscopy and Minimally Invasive Surgery

Suwon Nanurei Hospital (Hospital Director Nam Shin-woo) has recruited Dr. Kim Kyung-tae, a neurosurgeon and authority in spinal endoscopy and minimally invasive spinal surgery, who will begin clinical practice starting September 1st.

Dr. Kim Kyung-tae graduated from Chung-Ang University School of Medicine and earned a PhD in Medicine from the university's graduate school. He has served as a neurosurgeon at Chung-Ang University Hospital, and held positions as professor at Kyungpook National University School of Medicine and department head of spine neurosurgery at Chilgok Kyungpook National University Hospital. He has accumulated clinical and research experience including a fellowship at Schoen Clinic Munich in Germany and the ICORD research institute at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada.

In particular, Dr. Kim has conducted ongoing research in cutting-edge spinal treatment fields including spinal endoscopy, minimally invasive surgery, spinal cord injury, and robotic spinal surgery. Since 2009, he has published 157 SCI papers. His research on "Development and Recent Advances in Robotic Spinal Surgery" received over 40 citations within two years of publication, earning recognition for high academic impact. He received the "Most Cited Paper Award" at the 2025 International Spine Conference.

His international collaborative research achievements are also noteworthy. He collaborated with UBC researchers to jointly study intrathecal pressure measurement methods in spinal cord injury patients, publishing results in the international journal "Journal of Neurotrauma." His research on pain reduction following spinal fusion was published in the prestigious orthopedic journal "Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (JBJS)."

Dr. Kim Kyung-tae stated, "I believe the starting point and ultimate destination of research is ultimately the patient," adding "I will do my best to apply the clinical experience and research findings I have accumulated to actual clinical care, reducing patient pain and enabling safer and faster recovery."
