Suwon Naruri Hospital (Hospital Director Nam Shin-woo) has recruited Dr. Kim Kyung-tae, a neurosurgeon and authority in spinal endoscopy and minimally invasive spinal surgery, who will begin providing medical services starting September 1.

Dr. Kim Kyung-tae graduated from Chung-Ang University College of Medicine and earned his Ph.D. in medicine from the university's graduate school. He worked at the Department of Neurosurgery at Chung-Ang University Hospital and served as a professor at Kyungpook National University School of Medicine and department chair of Spine Neurosurgery at Chilgok Kyungpook National University Hospital. He is a neurosurgeon with both clinical and research expertise, having conducted research at Schoen Clinic in Munich, Germany and the ICORD research institute at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada.

In particular, he has continued research in cutting-edge fields of spine treatment including spinal endoscopy, minimally invasive surgery, spinal cord injury, and robotic spine surgery. Since 2009, he has published 157 SCI papers. His research on "Development and Recent Trends in Robotic Spine Surgery" has been cited over 40 times within two years of publication, earning recognition for its high academic impact and winning the "Most Cited Paper Award" at the 2025 International Spine Conference.

His international collaborative research achievements are also noteworthy. He conducted joint research with UBC researchers on spinal perfusion pressure measurement methods in spinal cord injury patients and published the findings in the international journal "Journal of Neurotrauma." His research on pain reduction following spinal fusion surgery was published in the prestigious orthopedic journal "Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (JBJS)."

Dr. Kim Kyung-tae said, "I believe the starting and ending point of research is ultimately the patient," adding "I will do my best to apply the clinical experience and research achievements I have accumulated to actual patient care, reducing patient pain and enabling safer and faster recovery."

Hospital Director Nam Shin-woo of Suwon Naruri Hospital said, "With Dr. Kim Kyung-tae joining us, we have further strengthened our expertise in spinal endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery," and added "We expect this to be an important turning point for Suwon Naruri Hospital to develop into a specialized spinal hospital with competitiveness not only in clinical practice but also in research."
