Yangju Hoewamsa Site Museum will operate the '2026 Vivid National Heritage - Hoewamsa Rest Song (休歌)' program on the 29th, offering an opportunity to learn about the history and world heritage value of Yangju's Hoewamsa Site while enjoying relaxation.

The 'Hoewamsa Rest Song' program, developed with support from the National Heritage Administration, is designed to reinterpret the historical records and significance of Hoewamsa Site in a contemporary manner, and will be divided into two parts.

Part 1, 'Hoewamsa New Muchae Assembly,' consists of various programs including △wish-making for World Heritage inscription △craft experience making doorbells and keychains from artifacts excavated at Hoewamsa Site △food experience △photo booth, and more.

This program was planned based on the Buddhist ritual 'Muchae Assembly,' which offers feasts and distributes goods to the general public regardless of social status, and historical records that Queen Munjeong of the Joseon Dynasty sought to hold a Muchae Assembly at Hoewamsa during that period.

In Part 2, 'Hoewamsa Rest Song,' traditional magic and martial arts performances will be presented. Based on the historical significance of Yangju's Hoewamsa Site, where King Taejo Yi Seong-gye wished to establish a palace and royal monks and enlightened monks conducted their practice, citizens weary from daily life will be provided with a special time to rest and enjoy culture.

The event will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., offering a special experience to appreciate the history and culture of Hoewamsa Site with all five senses amid the late summer sunset and early autumn atmosphere.

A Yangju City official stated, "We hope this project will promote awareness of the world heritage value and charm of Yangju's Hoewamsa Site and provide an opportunity for citizens to experience it firsthand," and added, "We will continue to operate national heritage utilization programs that promote the history and culture of our local community."
