Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) announced that it will publicly recruit 80 private members to serve on the 17th Architecture Committee in order to strengthen expertise in the construction field and enhance the fairness of deliberations.

The recruitment period runs from August 27 to September 10, and the term of appointed members will be two years from November 1 of this year through October 31, 2028.

The Architecture Committee is an organization that deliberates and reviews major matters related to construction, such as building permits and authorizations for building demolition.

It comprehensively reviews various fields including the appropriateness of architectural plans, building safety, landscape, traffic, landscaping, and disaster prevention, thereby creating a safe construction environment and enhancing the dignity and public value of the city.

The recruitment fields include 11 areas: △architectural planning △traffic planning △urban planning △architectural landscape △soil and foundation △building structure △landscaping △construction management △building systems △fire prevention and disaster management △construction safety.

Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications in their respective field: △associate professor level or higher at a university △PhD holder with 5 or more years of practical experience, or master's degree holder with 7 or more years of practical experience △licensed technology specialist or architect with 5 or more years of practical experience △first-class technician with engineer certification and 10 or more years of practical experience △research manager-level expert in a relevant field at a research institute funded by the government or local government with 5 or more years of practical experience.

Applicants should download the application forms from the Yongin City website's notice and announcement section, fill them out, and submit them along with required documents either by visiting the City's Architecture Division or by registered mail (Architecture Division, 1st Floor, Building 1, Yongin City Hall, 1199 Joongbu-daero, Choin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi Province). Applications can also be submitted via email (baemin00@korea.kr).

A city official stated, "The Architecture Committee plays an important role in ensuring building safety and plan appropriateness while enhancing the dignity and public value of the city," and added, "We hope that experts with professional expertise and diverse experience in the construction field will actively participate."
