Suwon Special City Expands Postpartum Care Chinese Medicine Discounts from September
Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) is partnering with the Suwon Special City Korean Medicine Association to expand the beneficiaries of the 'Postpartum Care Chinese Medicine Discount Program' from September 1st to include all mothers who have given birth and pregnant women 16 weeks or more who have experienced miscarriage or stillbirth.
Suwon City and the Suwon Special City Korean Medicine Association signed a 'Business Agreement for Expanding the Postpartum Care Chinese Medicine Discount Program' at Suwon City Hall on the 19th, pledging cooperation. The agreement ceremony was attended by Kim Eun-ju, Director of Women and Family Affairs of Suwon City, and Kang Seo-won, President of the Suwon Special City Korean Medicine Association.
Through this agreement, the postpartum care Chinese medicine discount benefit, which was previously available only to mothers with second or more children, is now expanded to all mothers who have given birth, including those with their first child. Pregnant women who have experienced miscarriage or stillbirth at 16 weeks or more of pregnancy are newly included as beneficiaries.
Beneficiaries can receive a 250,000 won discount when they prepare postpartum care Chinese medicine worth 250,000 won or more. The discount amount is fully sponsored by the Korean medicine clinics participating in the program.
Mothers who have given birth can obtain a 'Postpartum Care Chinese Medicine Discount Certificate' from the administrative welfare center in their residential district and submit it to participating Korean medicine clinics in the city to receive the benefit. Information about the expanded beneficiaries and application procedures will be available at each district administrative welfare center from September 1st.
Suwon City and the Suwon Special City Korean Medicine Association have agreed to cooperate in supporting the health recovery of mothers and pregnant women with miscarriage or stillbirth experiences, and in creating a birth-friendly social environment.
Kang Seo-won, President of the Suwon Special City Korean Medicine Association, said, "I am pleased to be expanding this meaningful project to support the health recovery of mothers together with Suwon City" and "I will cooperate with participating Korean medicine clinics to provide high-quality medical services."
Kim Eun-ju, Director of Women and Family Affairs of Suwon City, said, "I am grateful to the Suwon Special City Korean Medicine Association for bearing the full cost of the discount and contributing to the program expansion" and "We will work closely with the community to create a birth-friendly city of Suwon where people can have and raise children."
Suwon City and the Suwon Special City Korean Medicine Association have continued the program since signing a postpartum care Chinese medicine discount agreement in 2013.
