Suwon Special City Recruiting 151 Residents for Transit-Oriented Youth Housing
Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) is recruiting new residents for the transit-oriented "Saebits Youth Zone (Zone) 4" and vacant unit residents for "Zone 1" from August 24 to 28. A total of 151 units are being recruited: 141 units for Zone 4 and 10 units for Zone 1.
The Saebits Youth Zone, developed under a "Customized Housing Support Agreement for Suwon Youth" between Suwon City and Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), is a project where Suwon City recruits youth to move into LH's transit-oriented non-residential remodeled youth rental housing according to its own criteria and rents them at affordable rates.
Saebits Youth Zone 4 is located at 14-6 Hyowon-ro 265beon-gil, Paldal-gu (Ingye-dong). It newly recruits 141 residents for officetels with a dedicated floor area of 26㎡. It is approximately 2 minutes on foot from Suwon City Hall Station.
Zone 1, recruiting vacant unit residents, is located at 28 Gwangwang-ro 123beon-gil, Gwonseon-gu (Gwonseon-dong). It recruits homeless youth to occupy 10 officetels with a dedicated floor area of 26㎡. It is approximately 5 minutes on foot from Suwon City Hall Station.
The initial lease period is 2 years, and renewal contracts can be made up to 4 times in 2-year increments. Those receiving basic livelihood assistance, medical assistance, or housing assistance pay a deposit of 1 million won and rent at 40% of market rates, while other youth pay a deposit of 2 million won and rent at 50% of market rates.
Youth aged 19 to 39 without housing registered as residents of Suwon City can apply if they meet income and asset criteria. 70% of the recruited residents will be selected in order of highest scores among those who meet the "Suwon Youth Specialized Priority Residency Criteria," and 30% will be selected from general youth in order of highest scores.
Suwon Youth Specialized Priority Residency targets include: △young people living in multi-child Suwon Human Housing △youth living in shared house CON (CON) △startup youth and artists at companies located in Suwon △young people from child welfare facilities (including foster care) who have passed 5 years since discharge or are in self-preparation after mid-discharge △youth who have passed 5 years since discharge from youth shelters or have used them for 2 years or less △victims recommended by agencies such as the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Jeonse Damage Support Center (HUG).
General youth must have a monthly average income no more than 120% of the previous year's monthly average income of single-person urban worker households at 4,576,036 won, and must meet total asset criteria of 251 million won or less and vehicle price criteria of 45.42 million won or less.
Applications can be made on the Suwon City website "Saebits Talk Talk Application Reception" from August 24 to 28. Winners and alternate resident numbers will be announced on November 20, and winners must move in within 60 days after contracting with Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH).
A Suwon City official said, "Saebits Youth Zone is a project that supports youth by reducing housing costs and enabling stable living," adding "We will expand housing welfare policies that are practically helpful to youth."
