Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) is recruiting new residents for transit-oriented 'Saebit Youth Zone 4' and vacant unit residents for 'Zone 1' from August 24 to 28. A total of 151 units will be recruited: 141 units for Zone 4 and 10 units for Zone 1.

Saebit Youth Zone, developed according to the 'Suwon Youth Customized Housing Support Cooperation Agreement' between Suwon City and Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), is a project where Suwon City recruits young people to move into youth rental housing created through Korea Land and Housing Corporation's transit-oriented non-residential remodeling project, offering affordable rental terms.

Saebit Youth Zone 4 is located at 14-6, Hyowon-ro 265beon-gil, Paldal-gu (Ingye-dong). It recruits 141 new residents for officetel units with 26㎡ of dedicated floor space. It is approximately a 2-minute walk from Suwon City Hall Station.

Zone 1, which recruits vacant unit residents, is located at 28, Gwangwang-ro 123beon-gil, Gwonseon-gu (Gwonseon-dong). It recruits young, property-less residents for 10 officetel units with 26㎡ of dedicated floor space. It is approximately a 5-minute walk from Suwon City Hall Station.

The rental period is initially 2 years, and can be renewed for up to 4 additional 2-year terms. Recipients of basic livelihood assistance, medical assistance, or housing assistance pay a deposit of 1 million won and rent at 40% of market rates, while other young people pay a deposit of 2 million won and rent at 50% of market rates.

Applicants must be property-less young people aged 19 to 39 registered as residents in Suwon City and meet income and asset criteria. 70% of recruited residents will be selected in order of highest scores from those meeting 'Suwon Youth Priority Occupancy Criteria,' and 30% will be selected in order of highest scores from general young people.

Suwon Youth Priority Occupancy targets include: △young people residing in multi-child Suwon Human Housing, △young people living in sharehouses (CON), △young entrepreneurs and artists establishing businesses in Suwon, △youth preparing for independence who have been out of child welfare facilities (including foster care) for 5 years or left mid-term, △young people who have been out of youth shelters for 5 years or have stayed for 2 years or less, and △victims recommended or deliberated by government agencies including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Jeonse Damage Support Center (HUG).

General young people must have a monthly average personal income of 4.576 million won or less (120% of the previous year's monthly average income for single-person urban worker households), total assets of 251 million won or less, and vehicle value of 45.42 million won or less.

Applications can be submitted from August 24 to 28 through the Suwon City website's 'Saebit Talk-Talk Application Reception.' Winners and standby residents will be announced on November 20, and winners must move in within 60 days after signing a contract with Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH).

A Suwon City official stated, "Saebit Youth Zone is a project designed to help young people reduce housing expenses and lead stable lives," and added, "We will expand residential welfare policies that are substantively helpful to young people."
