Gyeonggi Province Women and Family Foundation to Hold 'Gender and AI Policy' Discussion Forum on September 3rd
The Gyeonggi Province Women and Family Foundation will hold a policy discussion forum on September 3rd at the auditorium of the Gyeonggi Province Women's Vision Center on the theme of 'Gyeonggi Province AI Policy from a Gender Perspective: Issues and Directions.'
The forum, held to commemorate Gender Equality Week 2026 (September 1-7), was organized to share the foundation's research linking AI with gender equality and family policy, and to discuss Gyeonggi Province artificial intelligence (AI) policies from a gender perspective.
The foundation operated the 'Gyeonggi Women and Family Future Forum: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Gender' in the first half of this year to discuss field-specific issues, and is currently advancing research to establish a gender-sensitive analytical framework for Gyeonggi Province's artificial intelligence policies by October and explore directions for AI utilization in the childcare sector based on these discussions.
The forum will proceed with presentations and designated discussions. For the presentation on the theme of 'Gender-sensitive analysis of AI policy and possibilities of AI utilization in the childcare sector,' research members Song Ri-ra and Kim Ji-hyun will diagnose the current state of Gyeonggi Province and propose future policy directions.
Panelists include Lee Jung-ah, representative of the Gyeonggi Women's Organizations Federation; Lee Young-geul, professor at Hansei University; Kim Hae-ryeon, director of the Women's Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province; and Lee Chae-myung, a Gyeonggi Province councilor. Professor Kim Kyung-hee from Chung-Ang University will serve as moderator.
Moon Kyung-hee, acting representative director of the foundation, stated, "In the era of AI transformation, women and family policy requires an integrated approach combining the social impact of AI and gender perspectives," and added, "We expect the forum to serve as a leading discussion venue that views Gyeonggi Province's AI policy framework and direction through the lens of gender."
The forum, which will be livestreamed through the foundation's YouTube channel 'Guut TV,' is open to any interested residents of Gyeonggi Province. An event for online participants will also be held, and advance registration can be completed through the foundation's website (www.gwff.kr) event information page.
