The Gyeonggi Province Women and Family Foundation will hold a policy discussion forum on September 3 at the auditorium of the Gyeonggi Women's Vision Center under the theme of 'Gyeonggi Province AI Policy from a Gender Perspective: Issues and Directions.'

The forum, held to commemorate Gender Equality Week 2026 (September 1-7), was organized to share the foundation's research findings that connect AI with gender equality and family policy areas, and to discuss Gyeonggi Province's artificial intelligence (AI) policy from a gender perspective.

In the first half of this year, the foundation operated the 'Gyeonggi Women and Family Future Forum: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Gender' to discuss sector-specific issues. Based on this, the foundation is promoting research to establish a gender-sensitive analysis framework for Gyeonggi Province's AI policy by October and to explore directions for AI application in the childcare sector.

The forum will proceed with presentations and designated discussions. The presentation, titled 'Gender-Sensitive Analysis of AI Policy and Potential for AI Application in Childcare,' will be delivered by research fellows Song Ri-ra and Kim Ji-hyun, who will diagnose the current situation in Gyeonggi Province and propose future policy directions.

Discussants include Lee Jung-a, representative of the Gyeonggi Women's Organizations Federation; Lee Young-geul, professor at Hansae University; Kim Hae-ryun, director of the Women's Policy Division at Gyeonggi Province; and Lee Chae-myung, Gyeonggi Province councilor. The moderator will be Professor Kim Kyung-hee from Chung-Ang University.

Acting CEO Moon Kyung-hee of the foundation stated, 'Women and family policy in the era of AI transformation requires an integrated approach that combines the social impact of AI with gender perspectives,' and added, 'We expect the forum to serve as a leading discussion venue that examines the framework and direction of Gyeonggi Province's AI policy through a gender lens.'

The forum will be livestreamed through the foundation's YouTube channel 'Gu-eut TV,' and anyone interested from the province can participate. An event for online participants will also be held. Pre-registration can be completed through the foundation's website (www.gwff.kr) event information section.
