Gyeonggi Province Library Offers Tours Guided by Residents
Gyeonggi Province Library will operate the ‘Gyeonggi Province Library Tours with Resident Narrators’ program from September 1 to 17.
Gyeonggi Province Library trained 31 resident narrators for the library through the ‘Library School’, a program in which residents directly plan and operate library explanation content, which was launched in July. The library tours will be held 19 times in total, consisting of 12 general tours, 4 AI program tours, and 3 children's book reading programs at World Friends Book Village, with 4 to 10 participants allowed per session depending on the program.
Resident narrators will introduce tour participants to the spaces and key facilities of Gyeonggi Province Library, as well as stories about books and libraries, while sharing the value and experiences of the library they learned at Library School.
Program registration is available from August 20 to 31 through the Gyeonggi Province Library website (library.kr), and registrations will close on a first-come, first-served basis according to the capacity for each session. General tours can be registered by up to one group per session with a maximum of 10 people, while AI programs are operated with a maximum of 4 people. The World Friends Book Village book reading program is designed for childcare centers and kindergartens.
Detailed operating schedules and application methods can be found on the Gyeonggi Province Library website.
Yun Myung-hee, director of Gyeonggi Province Library, stated, “Gyeonggi Province Library is more than a place to read books and obtain information; it is a public forum where residents meet, share ideas, and create together,” and added, “We will continue to realize Gyeonggi Province Library as a space created together with residents.”
