Gyeonggi Province Library Offers Guided Tours Led by Local Residents
Gyeonggi Province Library will operate a "Guided Tour of Gyeonggi Province Library with Local Resident Docents" program from September 1 to 17.
In July, Gyeonggi Province Library trained 31 local resident docents through a "Library School" where residents directly plan and operate library guide content. The library tours will run for a total of 19 sessions: 12 general tours, 4 AI program tours, and 3 World Friends Book Village book reading programs, with 4 to 10 participants per session depending on the program.
Local resident docents will introduce tour participants to the library's spaces, major facilities, and stories about books and libraries, sharing the value of libraries and experiences they learned at the Library School.
Program registration opens from August 20 to 31 through the Gyeonggi Province Library website (library.kr) and closes on a first-come, first-served basis according to capacity per session. General tours allow up to one group of a maximum of 10 people per session, while AI programs accommodate up to 4 people. The World Friends Book Village book reading program is designed for kindergartens and daycare centers.
Detailed operation schedules and registration information are available on the Gyeonggi Province Library website.
Yun Myung-hee, director of Gyeonggi Province Library, said, "Gyeonggi Province Library goes beyond being a place to read books and obtain information—it is a public forum where residents meet, share ideas, and create together." She added, "We will continue to realize a Gyeonggi Province Library that is created together with residents."
