Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun said, “I extend my gratitude to the members of the Cheongaeguri Class parent support group who are dedicating themselves to the creative growth of elementary school students on the front lines of our schools.”

At a workshop for the Cheongaeguri Class parent support group held by Suwon City at Suwon Youth Hostel on the 22nd, Mayor Lee said, “Thanks to the exceptional dedication of the parent support group and customized classes, we are receiving positive responses from schools, students, and parents alike.” He added, “We will spare no effort in supporting Cheongaeguri Class to become firmly established as a successful model of Suwon-style specialized education.”

The workshop was organized to encourage parent support group members working on the front lines in schools and to explore sustainable development measures among support groups. Approximately 150 members of the Cheongaeguri Class parent support group, active in grade-specific customized specialized fields at elementary schools, attended the event.

On the day, parent support group members from each field attended, including △Eco-environment (Grade 1) 35 members △Artificial Intelligence (AI) Robotics (Grade 2) 36 members △Culture and Arts (Grade 3) 41 members △Coding Drones (Grade 4) 33 members △Global Citizenship (Grade 5) 15 members △Artificial Intelligence (AI) Convergence (Grade 6) 18 members, and shared field experience and operational know-how.

The workshop was conducted over five themes: ‘Achievement-Up,’ ‘Capacity-Up,’ ‘Tension-Up,’ ‘Mindset-Up,’ and ‘Atmosphere-Up.’ An expert special lecture on enhancing instructional capacity for parent support group members (participation techniques to increase youth focus) was held and received positive response.

A ‘team building recreation’ session was also held to foster exchange and camaraderie among parent support group members. Mayor Lee gave opening remarks and participated in icebreaker programs, communicating with parent support group members.

The Cheongaeguri Class parent instructors are parents who have completed the ‘DODO Project’ instructor training program. They teach at ‘Suwon-style specialized classrooms’ (eco-environment, AI robotics, culture and arts, coding drones, global citizenship, and AI convergence).

Cheongaeguri Class is one of the projects under Cheongaeguri SPEC, Suwon City's education brand.
