Hwaseong Special City's Dongtan-gu Holds First Regional Concert 'REWIND Dance Night!' with Great Success
Hwaseong Special City's Dongtan-gu successfully concluded its regional concert 'REWIND Dance Night!' held on the 22nd at the soccer field of Dongtan Yeoul Park, meeting with enthusiastic response from citizens.
This concert was the first regional concert held since the launch of the four-district administrative system in February of this year, and was planned to allow citizens to enjoy cultural performances in their daily lives and enable diverse generations to come together harmoniously.
The event, which ran for 120 minutes starting at 7 p.m., filled not only the 3,000-seat venue but also the standing areas with citizens, heating up the atmosphere at the venue. Family, friends, and neighbors gathered in one place to share meaningful moments of understanding and communication between generations through music. Dongtan Yeoul Park was filled with laughter and cheers from citizens of various age groups.
The performance opened refreshingly with the clear and hopeful harmony of the local children's choir 'Singing Angels.' Following this, popular artists Cleo and Kim Hyun-jung delivered exciting performances with their signature hit songs, and when Lee Jae-hoon (COOL) sang his representative songs with full passion, the audience erupted in unison cheers. Citizens enjoyed the summer night festival moment by singing along with the performers.
Hwaseong Special City Mayor Jung Myung-geun said, "It is even more meaningful that many citizens joined us for the regional concert held in Dongtan-gu for the first time following the launch of the four district offices." He added, "Seeing citizens across generations enjoy music together and communicate in vibrant and youthful Dongtan made me feel once again the bright future and possibilities of Dongtan."
He further stated, "We will expand opportunities for citizens to enjoy high-quality performances and culture close to their daily lives so they feel 'it was a good decision to live in Dongtan,' and we will prepare diverse cultural events that bring out the vitality and uniqueness of Dongtan."
Hwang Guk-hwan, head of Dongtan-gu Office, said, "I thank all citizens for creating this special summer evening together." He added, "Going forward, we will listen to residents' voices and continue to create a cultural space where people of all ages and genders can come together."
