Gwangmyeong City (Mayor Park Seung-won) is establishing a citizen health education cooperation system in collaboration with local medical organizations and healthcare institutions.

On the 21st, the city signed a memorandum of understanding for the 'Gwangmyeong City Health Education City Project' at the main conference room of City Hall with four medical organizations—Gwangmyeong City Medical Association, Dental Association, Korean Medicine Association, and Pharmacists Association—and two medical institutions: Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital and Gwangmyeong Sung-Ae Hospital.

This agreement was pursued to provide citizens with more specialized health education by utilizing the region's professional medical resources and to establish a foundation for community health education cooperation.

Under the agreement, participating organizations will join efforts in △operating health education and health lectures for citizens △recommending and supporting expert lecturers △providing specialized health knowledge and educational materials and advising on educational content △cooperating on related projects for citizens' health promotion.

Based on the agreement, the city will operate a total of four health lectures from October to November, with at least one per region, targeting Gwangmyeong citizens.

The lectures will cover the following topics: △prevention of frailty and management of chronic diseases for healthy aging △understanding and safely using medications △proper oral care and gum health △health stories shared by Korean medicine practitioners.

The lectures will address health information applicable in daily life, including chronic disease management such as hypertension and diabetes, prevention of medication misuse, oral care, seasonal health management, and musculoskeletal pain management.

Mayor Park Seung-won of Gwangmyeong City stated, "We have prepared education that will help citizens manage their health in their daily lives together with local medical experts," and added, "We will create a healthy environment together with the community so that citizens can obtain accurate health information and take care of their own health."
