Yongin Special City Operates 'Visiting Human Book Mentoring' Program in Second Half of Year
Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) announced on the 21st that it will operate the second half program of the 'Visiting Human Book Mentoring' starting in September, which received high satisfaction and positive response from youth in the first half of the year.
The 'Visiting Human Book Mentoring' is a program in which 'human books' registered at Yongin City libraries visit local middle and high schools directly to share stories about career paths and humanities based on their experiences and knowledge, and communicate with students.
The second half program will be conducted a total of four times from September to October at four schools: Deok Young High School, Shinbong Middle School, Dohyeon Middle School, and Cheoin High School.
On September 11 at Deok Young High School, human book An So-hyun will share entrepreneurial experience and career stories under the theme of 'Founding a Design Company.'
On October 16 at Shinbong Middle School, human book Jang Seok-jin will introduce writing methods under the theme of 'Writing Editorials and Essays in Composition Class.'
On October 28 at Dohyeon Middle School, human book Kim Suk-hee will conduct training on expressing one's thoughts and emotions in writing under the theme of 'Reading, Meditation, and Diary Writing.'
On October 28 at Cheoin High School, human book Lee Kyung-ho will introduce career exploration methods suited to changing technological environments under the theme of 'Career Redirection Using Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and ChatGPT.'
A city official stated, "Human book mentoring is a program in which citizens with diverse life experiences and wisdom meet youth directly to share their stories and help them explore career paths," and added, "In the second half as well, we will operate the program substantively so that youth can communicate with human books from various fields, discover their interests, and concretely envision their futures."
