2026 Suwon National Heritage Night Continues Until August 30...Suwon National Heritage Night Extended
[News S=Cheon Euihyeon, Reporter] Suwon City, Gyeonggi Province, will extend the operation of the "2026 Suwon National Heritage Night—Tenth Evening, Suwon Yeonhyang" through August 30.
Originally scheduled to run for three days from August 14 to 16, the event has been significantly expanded to a 17-day schedule due to continuous visitor traffic and positive reception from citizens and tourists.
The Suwon National Heritage Night is a summer festival featuring performances, exhibitions, and experiences set against the backdrop of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site Suwon Hwaseong Fortress and surrounding cultural facilities. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the event.
During the extended period, diverse programs will continue at three major sites: "Yongyon Gasdeung" and "Banghwagyogyo Lights" around the Yongyon area, "Hwahongmun Media Art" around Hwahongmun Gate, and nighttime lighting displays at Maehyanggyogyo Bridge and Suwon Stream. The "Joseon Moonlight Market" and "Haenggung Willow Market" will also be held in conjunction with the extended nighttime opening of Hwaseong Haenggung Palace.
A city official said, "We hope more citizens and tourists can enjoy the beautiful night views of Suwon Hwaseong Fortress," and added, "We will actively promote the extended operation to provide practical benefits to local business districts."
