Suwon Special City Reviews Implementation of Village Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Projects
Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) and the Suwon Sustainable Development Council held a ‘seminar on monitoring results and future directions of Suwon City's village Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) implementation projects’ on the 21st at Ajou University's Woncheon Information Center.
The seminar shared implementation achievements of the village Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) projects and explored future project directions and public-private-academic cooperation strategies based on expert reviews and opinions regarding monitoring results.
Kim Bong-won, research committee member of the Suwon Sustainable Development Council, presented analysis results of the ‘Suwon City Village Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Implementation Project Monitoring Report,’ and under the chairmanship of Kim Chan-soo, research committee chair, research committee members, officials and students from Ajou University's anchor project team, and Suwon City officials discussed monitoring achievements and future tasks.
In general discussions, based on monitoring results and advisory opinions by project, future directions were re-established so that village projects in each district better reflect sustainable development values. Public-private-academic cooperation plans for implementation were also discussed.
A Suwon City official stated, “We hope the monitoring results will be utilized to complement projects in each district and enhance sustainability,” and added, “We will expand the foundation for local citizen networks to actively participate.”
