Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority Conducts Underwater and Waterside Cleanup at Jebu Marina
The Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority conducted an 'underwater and waterside environmental cleanup activity' near Jebu Marina on the 21st in partnership with the Korean Special Duty Veterans Association.
Approximately 130 participants, including members and staff of the Korean Special Duty Veterans Association equipped with professional underwater cleanup capabilities, took part in the cleanup activity. The participants collected marine waste left abandoned on the waterside of Jebu Island using professional diving equipment.
This activity was organized to promote community contribution as a public institution and to practice eco-friendly ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) management.
Acting President Kim Geum-gyu of Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority stated, "This cleanup activity was a meaningful occasion where the private and public sectors joined forces to preserve the marine ecosystem," and added, "Going forward, we will continue to provide a safe and pleasant marina environment to users through sustained environmental cleanup activities and the establishment of eco-friendly management systems, and will practice ESG management."
Meanwhile, Jebu Marina, which opened in June 2021, is Gyeonggi Province's largest marina facility with a total capacity of 300 berths, including 176 water berths and 124 land berths, and operates with infrastructure including a clubhouse, ship repair facilities, and fueling services.
