Yangju City Opens Public Recruitment for Civic Evaluation Committee on Election Pledges
Yangju City announced that it is opening public recruitment for the 'Civic Evaluation Committee on Election Pledges for the 9th Popularly Elected Term' to fairly and objectively evaluate the implementation of pledge projects and reflect citizens' opinions in city administration.
A total of 30 members will be recruited, organized into six sub-committees: △General Administration △Transportation and Urban Development △Education △Industry, Economy, and Employment △Culture, Tourism, and Sports △Health and Welfare.
Applicants must be 18 years or older as of the announcement date. Eligible candidates include △experts with rich experience and knowledge in each field of pledge matters △individuals who can represent local or pledge-related civic organizations △citizens of Yangju City who wish to actively participate in city development. Anyone meeting these criteria may apply.
However, individuals engaged in activities for specific political parties or political purposes are excluded.
The recruitment period runs from August 20 to September 2. Applications can be submitted via email (mjgongju@korea.kr) with required documents or by visiting the Planning and Budget Division of Yangju City Hall.
The city will conduct qualification verification and internal review before making final selections for the civic evaluation committee, with results to be individually notified.
The civic evaluation committee will present opinions on the establishment and modification of pledge project implementation plans, and will perform roles including diagnosis, evaluation, and recommendations regarding overall implementation of pledge projects. The committee's term of service will extend from the date of appointment through the re-term of the mayor for the 9th popularly elected term.
Yangju City Mayor Chung Duk-young said, "Since pledges are precious promises with citizens, the process of citizens directly examining whether pledges are being implemented as planned and offering their opinions is important." He added, "We ask for the keen interest and participation of citizens in the recruitment of the civic evaluation committee on pledge implementation."
