Dongtan-gu District in Hwaseong Special City held 'visiting informatization education' for the Dongtan 7-dong community leaders group at the Dongtan 7-dong Administrative Welfare Center on the 20th.

The education took place following a meeting of the Dongtan 7-dong community leaders group and focused on 'using smartphone artificial intelligence (AI) for Dongtan 7-dong community leaders.' The program was structured around hands-on practice to help participants learn AI utilization methods applicable not only to daily life but also to community leader duties and resident communication.

Dongtan-gu regularly operates 'visiting informatization education' centered on smartphone usage by visiting 6 to 7 apartment senior centers and welfare facilities throughout the district each month to enhance residents' digital competency and reduce the digital divide.

In particular, this program expanded the target audience from the existing senior centers and welfare facilities to include community leaders groups. The district designed the program to experience diverse AI utilization methods beyond basic smartphone usage, enabling community leaders—who bridge administration and residents in neighborhoods—to directly apply generative AI to their duties and local community communication.

Key educational content includes △'using AI safely,' which teaches personal information protection and ethical AI utilization; △'smart community leader work done by voice,' which streamlines various guidance and communication tasks using voice AI; and △'creating our neighborhood song with AI,' where participants create music about the local area using generative AI.

Hwang Guk-hwan, the District Chief of Dongtan-gu, stated, "As AI technology rapidly spreads into daily life, it is important to help residents use the technology safely and effectively without perceiving it as difficult." He added, "We will actively identify sites requiring education beyond senior centers and welfare facilities, such as community leaders groups, and expand educational opportunities for residents to practically utilize digital technology in their daily lives."
