Suwon's Kwonseon-gu Homaesil-dong Installs 'Safety 3-Kit' in Elderly Households
The Homaesil-dong Residents' Autonomous Committee in Kwonseon-gu, Suwon announced on the 20th that it has installed a ‘Safety 3-Kit’ in elderly households as part of the 'Our Neighborhood Elder Safety Guardian Living Lab' project.
This project, pursued through the Suwon Urban Foundation's open call for proposals, is an experimental living lab initiative designed to prevent in-home safety accidents among the elderly and create safe residential environments.
On that day, approximately 10 committee members from the residents' autonomous committee visited elderly households and installed the Safety 3-Kit, which consists of anti-slip pads, safety handrails, and motion-detection sensors.
The residents' autonomous committee provided guidance on product usage and management methods, and plans to gather feedback on inconveniences and installation locations to reflect improvements in the project.
Choi Jae-geun, chairman of the Homaesil-dong Residents' Autonomous Committee, said, “The core of this project is reducing risk factors in spaces where the elderly live their daily lives,” and added, “Moving forward, we will reflect the opinions of our elderly residents in the project to create a community environment where they can live with peace of mind.”
Cho Gyeong-ae, head of Homaesil-dong, also expressed her commitment to support. Head Cho said, “We will provide support so that living lab activities can proceed smoothly.”
