Anseong City Launches Fifth Local Public Transportation Plan Development Project
Anseong City (Mayor Kim Bo-ra) announced on the 18th that it held a kick-off briefing for the 'Anseong City Local Public Transportation Plan Development Project (including route reorganization)' at the situation room on the second floor of City Hall to establish a systematic public transportation network in line with changing urban conditions.
The project is being pursued to establish a systematic public transportation network that meets population structure changes and urban development conditions, guarantee citizens' right to mobility, and prepare comprehensive measures to revitalize public transportation. The project period runs from July 2026 to February 2028, and will be carried out by Myongji University and Shinmyung E&NC Co., Ltd. The briefing was attended by Mayor Kim Bo-ra of Anseong City, along with relevant government officials including the Vice Mayor and Transportation Policy Director, as well as project contractors and advisory committee members.
At the briefing, the project's direction was shared focusing on mid- and long-term goals for Anseong City's public transportation and basic directions for city bus route reorganization, and various opinions were discussed for future improvements to the public transportation system.
Through this project, Anseong City plans to carefully analyze transportation demand resulting from urban development and population changes, and establish a route system that reflects actual mobility characteristics of citizens. In particular, the city will focus on enhancing public transportation convenience by considering regional living zones and transportation demand, and preparing effective route reorganization measures that citizens can tangibly experience.
Mayor Kim Bo-ra of Anseong City stated, "Since Anseong is a city without railroads, the role of public transportation is very important in guaranteeing citizens' right to mobility," adding, "We will faithfully pursue the project as an opportunity to establish a public transportation system that citizens can use more conveniently and efficiently in line with changes in urban and population structure."
