The Gyeonggi Province Jobs Foundation will hold a "Joint Admission Information Session for Early Employment Contract Majors" with Siheung City on the 29th at the Siheung Business Center Convention Hall, targeting high school students and parents.

The information session has been organized to provide prospective students and parents preparing for the 2027 academic year college entrance examination with information about the early employment contract major system, university-specific admission procedures, and academic management. In particular, it focuses on providing comprehensive higher education information for prospective students who wish to select universities and majors by comprehensively considering grades, aptitude, and employment prospects.

The early employment contract major is an industry-academy collaborative curriculum in which universities and companies cooperate to nurture talent needed in industrial settings. Employment is confirmed upon admission, and students can graduate from a four-year university in three years. Since most tuition is supported by the nation and companies, interest from students and parents has grown as it serves as a practical alternative for pursuing both higher education and employment.

Four universities will participate in this joint admission information session: Gachon University, Hanyang University ERICA Campus, Korea Engineering University, and Gyeonggi Science and Technology University.

Each university will present the 2027 academic year admission procedures and curriculum for early employment contract majors connected with industrial fields such as semiconductors, displays, AI software, robotics, and future mobility. Additionally, a special lecture on "2027 College Entrance Admission Strategy" by Lee Seong-ha, a teacher from Hwaseong Banwol High School, and university-specific admission counseling booths will be operated to assist prospective students and parents with higher education planning.

Students and parents wishing to participate in the information session can pre-register online (via QR code on the poster) by 2 p.m. on the 28th. Prior to this, the foundation will also separately operate an online information session on the 20th at 7 p.m. for career and admission guidance counselors from high schools nationwide. Through the session for teachers, the foundation plans to support smooth higher education counseling regarding early employment contract majors in school settings.

The foundation plans to improve information accessibility regarding early employment contract majors through both the online information session for teachers and the joint admission information session for students and parents. In particular, it will make efforts to promote early employment contract majors not as a simple grades-based educational choice, but as a career path combining academics and employment connected to industrial settings. Through this, the foundation plans to support prospective students in designing both higher education and employment together while considering their aptitudes and career paths.

Kim Dong-hyun, head of the Southern Business Division at the Gyeonggi Province Jobs Foundation, stated, "Selecting a university and major is an important process in designing which field you will work in and develop in the future," and added, "I hope this information session will provide an opportunity for prospective students and parents to plan both higher education and employment together, and serve as a starting point for nurturing young engineers needed by industrial settings."
