At the lighting ceremony for the '2026 Suwon National Heritage Night' held at Yong-yeon on the evening of August 14, Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun declared, "Taking the 2026-2027 Suwon Visit Year as an opportunity, Suwon will leap forward as a 'K-Global Cultural Tourism Hub' that the world seeks to visit."

The Suwon National Heritage Night, hosted by Suwon Special City, organized by the Suwon Cultural Foundation, and sponsored by the National Heritage Administration, is a festival where visitors stroll through Suwon Hwaseong, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, and surrounding cultural facilities on summer nights. Marking the tenth year of the event, this year's festival runs for three days from August 14 to 16 under the theme 'The Tenth Night, Suwon Yeonyangʼ.

Mayor Lee Jae-jun said, "I hope visitors will enjoy a special summer night that can only be experienced in Suwon," adding, "Starting with the Suwon National Heritage Night, from September through October, Suwon Hwaseong Media Art, Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival, King Jeongjo's Royal Procession, and Gyeonggi Indie Music Festival will follow."
