Gyeonggi Province Future Generation Foundation Conducts Second 'Future Generation Together' Program with Immigrant Background Youth

The Gyeonggi Province Future Generation Foundation conducted the second session of 'Future Generation Together' with 29 immigrant background youth on the 14th at the Gyeonggi Province Youth Training Center.

'Future Generation Together' is a social contribution activity that provides experiential programs allowing immigrant background youth to experience Korean culture. In April, the foundation signed a memorandum of understanding with Global Youth Centers in three cities—Suwon, Ansan, and Hwaseong—to establish a cooperative system supporting immigrant background youth. In June, the foundation completed the first session of activities with 31 immigrant background youth from the Suwon center.

In the second session, immigrant background youth from the Hwaseong center visited Daebu Island village by cycling and walking together. They also communicated with each other through the process of creating and learning choreography, and experienced creative activities by producing local specialty items such as acrylic mood lights and shell mobiles.

Kim Hyun-sam, representative director of the Gyeonggi Province Future Generation Foundation, stated, "Supporting the growth and challenges of youth and young adults is an important role of the foundation," and added, "We will continue to discover and implement social contribution activities that reflect the foundation's characteristics and strengths, steadily providing diverse experiences and growth opportunities for the future generation."
