Children's Group Home Concert 'Dreamlight Wings: Our Story of Dreaming Together' Held
On the 7th, Gyeonggi Province held a talk concert for children's group homes titled ‘Dreamlight Wings: Our Story of Dreaming Together’ at Gyeonggi Sangsang Campus in Suwon with approximately 100 group home children and staff members in attendance.
Children's group homes are child welfare facilities that provide a home-like environment for children without parents or those who do not receive sufficient protection from their parents.
The event was organized to allow children to freely showcase their dreams and talents on stage, including ocarina, flute, and violin ensembles, singing, and taekwondo that they learned while living in the group homes. Additionally, various experience booths such as face painting, caricature, and nail art were continuously operated, making the event a festival where both children and staff members enjoyed and bonded together.
One child who performed on stage that day said, “At first, I was very nervous standing in front of people, but as I practiced with friends and received encouragement from teachers, I gained confidence that 'I can do this too.'” A staff member who observed the children at the scene said, “I hope there will be more such precious opportunities for children to discover their talents and develop their dreams.”
Park Yeon-gyeong, Director of the Women and Family Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, “I sincerely hope that today's event, where the children's dreams and challenges have come to fruition, becomes a meaningful stage they will never forget,” and added, “The province will continue to provide unwavering support and be a strong foundation so that children can grow healthily to become confident protagonists of the world.”
