[News S = Reporter Jung Jun-seong] As the heat wave continues this month, mobile workers in the Suwon area can now enjoy air conditioning on Sundays and public holidays.

The center, which previously closed on these days, will now remain open, filling the gap during midday hours when the risk of heat-related illness is highest.

According to Suwon City on the 7th, the city will operate the 'Gyeonggi Mobile Workers' Suwon Rest Center' on public holidays and Sundays from the 9th to the 30th.

The Suwon Rest Center is located on the 2nd floor of Sungbo Building at 18 Hyowon-ro 265beon-gil, Paldal-gu. It is a space used by mobile workers such as delivery workers, substitute drivers, courier workers, insurance planners, and educational consultants whose workplaces are not fixed in one location.

Currently, it operates from 10 a.m. on weekdays to 6 a.m. the next day, and from 2 p.m. on Saturdays to 6 a.m. the next day. Additionally, from the 9th to the 30th of this month, it will remain open from 2 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next day on public holidays and Sundays.

The center features a comprehensive rest hall, a women's rest area, a café, and an educational room. The city provides air-conditioned rest spaces so that mobile workers exhausted by the heat can rest safely, and has also stocked convenient facilities such as mobile phone chargers and free water and other heat-response supplies.

A city official said, "We will actively support mobile workers who work outdoors for extended periods in extreme heat so they can rest safely and prevent heat-related illnesses."
