North Suwon Library Recruiting Participants for '2026 Humanities on the Road'
North Suwon Library in Suwon City is recruiting 40 participants on a first-come, first-served basis starting August 18 for 'Humanities on the Road 2026: Reading Through Pictures and Writing Through Sentences: My Inner Emotional Art Museum.'
This is an art humanities program where participants appreciate paintings while exploring their own hearts and record their emotions in their own sentences. A total of 12 sessions will be held every Wednesday at the North Suwon Library auditorium from September 2 to November 25.
Works by Manet, Vigée Le Brun, Joan Miró, Edvard Munch, Na Hye-seok, Van Gogh, Klimt, and Matisse will be examined in connection with various themes including persona, narcissism, innocence, anxiety, immersion, passion, love, and recovery and peace. Art museum tours and reading sessions will also be held.
Kim Sang-rae, representative and writer of Atelier de Camus, will give lectures, and art docent Ko Sun-kyung will lead museum tours.
Adults interested in participating can apply through the North Suwon Library website or the Suwon City Library mobile web app.
'Humanities on the Road' is a public invitation project hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to help citizens access humanities in their daily lives in a friendly manner. North Suwon Library was selected in this year's public invitation and operates the program with 10 million won in government funding.
An official from North Suwon Library said, "This is a humanities lecture where participants can experience the process of art meeting an individual's life to heal the mind and foster personal growth," adding "We will continue to discover and operate diverse humanities programs that can satisfy citizens' cultural needs."
