Gyeonggi Province Recruits 140 Youth for 'Social Solidarity Economy Work Experience' Program
Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Social Economy Organization will conduct a second round of recruitment for approximately 140 youth to participate in the 'Social Solidarity Economy Youth Work Experience Pilot Program' by the 24th of this month.
Social solidarity economy refers to an economic activity approach that pursues social value, addresses community issues, and promotes sustainable development of communities. The program includes participation from cooperatives, village enterprises, and nonprofit organizations related to social solidarity economy.
As a pilot project of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety this year, the province has been supporting 120 youth selected through first-round recruitment in July, who are currently gaining employment competencies by experiencing various job duties in social solidarity economy organizations.
The second-round recruitment quota is 140 positions. Eligible applicants are unemployed youth aged 19 to 39 residing in Gyeonggi Province. Upon selection, participants will work at participating organizations within their residential areas for a maximum of four months from September to December, working 40 hours per week (five days a week, eight hours per day) and receiving a monthly salary of 2.34 million won before taxes. Systematic support programs including job training, counseling, and work situation monitoring will also be provided to ensure a stable work experience.
Youth wishing to participate can apply online through the Employment24 website (work24.go.kr) 'Government-Supported Job Recruitment Center' by noon on the 24th. Following this, final participants will be selected through document review and interviews from August 26 to 28, with results to be notified individually.
Song Eun-sil, Director of the Social Innovation Economy Division at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "This is a meaningful opportunity for youth to explore their career paths and enhance practical competencies while experiencing actual job duties in social solidarity economy organizations." She added, "We will implement this project substantively to provide youth with meaningful career-building opportunities, while contributing new perspectives and vitality from young people to social solidarity economy organizations and local communities."
