Rep. Kim Seung-won (Democratic Party, Suwon District A) stated on the 13th regarding the reopening of all 67 Homeplus stores nationwide, "I will wholeheartedly support the newly reopened doors so they never close again, and the new beginning of Homeplus and its workers standing back up."

Rep. Kim posted on his Facebook with the title 'Homeplus Reopens! Supporting Homeplus Standing Back Up and Its Workers,' visited the Homeplus Buksuwon branch located in his constituency to encourage staff members, and also posted a photo of himself making purchases.

Rep. Kim stated, "Today, all 67 Homeplus stores nationwide have reopened," adding, "I was delighted to visit the Buksuwon branch and participate in the shopping campaign, and I returned with my hands full after browsing the store that has regained its vitality."

Rep. Kim emphasized, "The Buksuwon branch, which was once the number one sales outlet nationwide, experienced severe difficulties while MBK sold off key assets and secured trillions of won in funds. During last year's parliamentary audit, I intensively questioned MBK's responsibility and strongly urged investigation of those responsible, fighting to protect workers' workplaces and the local economy."

Rep. Kim continued, "Today's reopening is a precious result created through the efforts of workers and families who endured in the cold streets and in front of the courthouse, tenant businesses and suppliers, and all who stood in solidarity with us. I sincerely thank everyone."

Furthermore, Rep. Kim pledged, "However, today's reopening is not the end but a new beginning. I will stand together until Homeplus regains vitality and becomes completely normalized into a workplace where workers, tenant businesses, and suppliers can all work with peace of mind."

Homeplus had temporarily closed 67 stores based on 200 billion won in emergency operating loans, conducting a soft opening on the 7th before officially opening all 67 stores on this day.
