The Gyeonggi Province Agricultural and Fishery Promotion Agency held an 'Eco-friendly Agricultural Product Bundle Delivery Ceremony Using Hometown Love Donation Funds' at the Yeoju Community Child Center on the 12th and began delivering eco-friendly agricultural product bundles to 1,389 families of children using community child centers.

Gyeonggi Province has established the 'Eco-friendly Agricultural Product Bundle Support Project for Vulnerable Groups,' the first designated donation project using Hometown Love Donation funds, to reduce nutritional gaps for children when school meals are suspended during school breaks and to support healthy eating habits.

Since fundraising began in July last year through March this year, a total of 60 million won in donations has been collected. Using these funds, a total of 2,812 families will be supported twice this year during winter and summer breaks.

During the winter break in February, eco-friendly agricultural product bundles were delivered to 1,423 families of children using community child centers. For this summer break, bundles will be sequentially delivered to 1,389 families of children using community child centers in six cities and counties—Gapyeong, Yeoncheon, Yangpyeong, Yeoju, Pocheon, and Dongducheon—where demand for child care support is high due to population decline.

The delivery ceremony on the 12th was attended by Choi Chang-soo, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Agricultural and Fishery Promotion Agency; Jo Byung-rae, Director of Autonomous Administration, Gyeonggi Province; and Jeon Chang-ho, President of the Gyeonggi Province Council of Social Welfare, who reviewed the eco-friendly agricultural product bundles and shared updates on project implementation.

Choi Chang-soo, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Agricultural and Fishery Promotion Agency, said, "The eco-friendly agricultural product bundle support project helps provide meals for children during school breaks when meals are suspended and assists eco-friendly farms in securing stable sales channels. Through donations, we will create a win-win model where regional welfare and agriculture grow together."

Jo Byung-rae, Director of Autonomous Administration, Gyeonggi Province, said, "This project provides an opportunity to continuously discover designated donation projects so that Hometown Love Donation funds can be practically utilized to solve various regional issues. We will strive to help more people understand and participate in the spirit of Hometown Love Donation."

The Hometown Love Donation system allows individuals to donate up to 20 million won annually to local governments other than their current address.
