Kim In-bae, Jangan-gu Chief, Strengthens Emergency Response Inspections for Heat Wave
Kim In-bae, chief of Jangan-gu in Suwon Special City, has further strengthened emergency response systems prioritizing the safety of residents in response to the continuing extreme heat wave.
On the 7th, Jangan-gu held an "Emergency Heat Wave Response Meeting" presided over by the district chief with all department heads in attendance, meticulously inspecting whether field-specific measures—including protection of vulnerable populations and safety of outdoor workers—are operating smoothly on the ground.
At the meeting, Chief Kim In-bae emphasized, "Vulnerable groups such as the elderly and people with disabilities are more severely affected by heat waves, requiring special attention," and stressed, "Outdoor workers face high risks of heat-related illness, so we must carefully check whether protective measures such as rest time compliance and securing rest areas are being properly observed."
Jangan-gu is currently implementing △comprehensive inspections and extended operations of senior centers as heat relief shelters △air conditioning equipment inspections and cooling expense support at senior centers △distribution of summer supplies to field workers such as environmental management staff △installation and operation of heat reduction facilities in parks throughout the district.
Chief Kim In-bae urged, "There must not be the slightest gap in matters directly linked to resident safety," and appealed, "All public officials must take responsibility and construct a tight safety net to minimize heat wave damage."
