Suwon Youth Participation Organization Alliance Visits Assembly to Discuss Youth Policy

Youth members of the Suwon Youth Participation Organization Alliance met with members of the Culture, Sports and Education Committee of the 13th Suwon Special City Assembly to discuss the direction of youth policy.

The meeting held at the City Hall Conference Room on the 8th was attended by city assembly members of the Culture, Sports and Education Committee, youth from the Suwon City Youth Assembly, youth from the Suwon City Youth Participation Committee, and officials from Suwon City and the Suwon City Youth and Youth Foundation.

The youth exchanged opinions with assembly members on topics including △youth protection policies in the digital environment △the importance of social participation activities during adolescence △practical ways to reflect youth-proposed policies in city administration.

After the meeting, participants moved to the new Suwon Special City Assembly building for tours of the Culture, Sports and Education Committee conference room, assembly members' research offices, and the main chamber. It was the Suwon Youth Participation Organization Alliance's first visit to the new building.

Im Jeong-wan, director of the Civic Cooperation and Education Bureau of Suwon City, said, “The thoughts of youth are precious opinions necessary for building the future of our local community,” and added, “We will actively support youth participation activities and ensure that the policies they propose are reflected in city administration.”
