[News S=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] The Gyeonggi Province Office of Education held a "4th Construction Supervision Citizen Team Commissioning Ceremony" on the 6th to further enhance safety and quality in Gyeonggi Province's educational construction projects.
The 4th Construction Supervision Citizen Team commissioned this time is composed of 30 field experts in total, including 12 architects, 6 civil engineers, 6 mechanical engineers, and 6 electrical engineers.
The term of service runs from August 1, 2026 to July 31, 2028, spanning two years.
The citizen supervision team received appointment certificates on this day and shared information regarding future activities and operations.
Going forward, they will directly visit construction sites commissioned by the Provincial Office of Education and its affiliated institutions to provide technical guidance on project progress, construction, quality, and safety management.
The Provincial Office of Education plans to reflect the results of the citizen team's on-site inspections to preemptively block risk factors at construction sites and actively support the creation of high-quality educational facilities so that students and faculty can concentrate on educational activities with peace of mind.
The office also plans to work closely with the citizen supervision team to thoroughly manage the safety and quality of educational facilities and to create increasingly transparent and safe educational facility construction sites.
Meanwhile, the citizen supervision team is a system first introduced by a provincial office of education nationwide in 2020 to improve educational facility construction quality and prevent defective construction.
Since its introduction through July of this year, the team has inspected a total of 369 sites (488 occasions) to strengthen safety management and construction quality.
The team has made significant contributions to securing practical quality and safety at construction sites through technology transfer via case studies and guideline production.
