Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-joon) conducted risk assessments on 37 public facilities.

From May to July, specialist institutions carried out risk assessment consulting on public facilities including subcontract worksites, libraries, administrative welfare centers, and employee cafeterias, providing support to departments facing difficulties in safety management expertise following the implementation of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.

'Risk assessment' is a core system for establishing self-regulatory prevention mechanisms in accordance with the Ministry of Employment and Labor's roadmap for reducing serious accidents. Through this risk assessment, Suwon City identified and managed major risk factors that could cause serious accidents such as asphyxiation, fire and explosion, falls, and overturning.

On the 11th, Suwon City held the '2026 Suwon City Risk Assessment Results Report Meeting' at the Suwon Agricultural and Fishery Products Wholesale Market conference room, sharing the risk assessment results of 37 public facilities with approximately 120 supervisors and managers.

Suwon City plans to continue efforts to raise safety awareness among supervisors and managers to lead to practical accident prevention.

An official from Suwon City said, "We held the results report meeting so that supervisors and managers can clearly recognize risk factors on site and strengthen their capacity to prevent serious accidents," and added, "Serious accidents can be prevented when safety and health obligations under the Occupational Safety and Health Act are thoroughly fulfilled."
