Hwaseong Special City operates August resident tax payment month... total assessment of approximately 4.77 billion won
Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun) is operating the payment period for regular resident tax (individual portion) through the 31st of this month, as well as the declaration and payment period for resident tax (business establishment portion).
Regular resident tax (individual portion) is assessed annually to household heads with addresses in Hwaseong Special City as of July 1. The city assessed 409,801 cases of regular resident tax (individual portion) totaling 477.193 billion won this year and mailed tax bills to each household. The payment period runs from August 16 to 31.
Resident tax (business establishment portion) applies annually as of July 1 to corporations with business establishments in Hwaseong Special City and individual business operators whose prior year value-added tax taxable standard amount is 80 million won or more. Taxpayers must declare and pay directly.
For taxpayer convenience, the city sent 937,480 payment documents with tax amounts written on them to resident tax (business establishment portion) declaration and payment subjects. Taxpayers who receive payment documents can check the stated tax amount and pay without separate declaration procedures. However, if the contents stated on the payment document, such as the total floor area of the business establishment, differ from actual circumstances, separate declaration and payment are required. Resident tax (business establishment portion) can be declared through Wetax or each district office tax department via mail, fax, visit, and other methods.
Resident tax can be paid through national financial institutions, virtual accounts, Wetax, internet wire transfer, ARS (142211), and simple payment apps (Kakao Pay, Payco, Naver Pay).
Noh Jong-soon, director of the Tax Administration Division, said, "Since resident tax is valuable financial resources used for providing public services for citizens, we ask that you faithfully pay within the payment deadline. We are providing various payment services so that taxpayers can declare and pay more conveniently, so please check in advance to avoid missing the deadline."
