Yeongtong-gu, Suwon City Deploys 'On-Site Problem-Solving Team' to Address Hidden Inconveniences
Yeongtong-gu District Office in Suwon Special City (District Head Park Sa-seung) visited the Maetan-dong and Weoncheon-dong areas on the 21st to confirm citizen complaints and improve resident inconveniences. The on-site inspection was attended by Suwon City Council Member Bae Ji-hwan, public relations officials, the Economic and Transportation Division Chief, the Safety and Construction Division Chief, and heads of Maetan 2nd and 4th administrative divisions.
District Head Park first visited 810-3 Maetan-dong near the main entrance of Samsung 1st Complex to confirm a request from residents for an additional crosswalk installation. The inspection team examined pedestrian conditions, vehicle traffic flow, and resident movement patterns in the area, and instructed related departments to implement necessary measures to enhance pedestrian safety.
The team then sequentially visited Sannam Elementary School and Maewon Elementary School to inspect the installation and maintenance of school commute route fencing to create a safe school commuting environment for students. The inspection team reviewed pedestrian movement patterns and facility conditions around the school routes with school officials and requested that related departments replace deteriorated fencing.
Park Sa-seung, head of Yeongtong-gu District Office in Suwon, stated, "It is important to directly confirm the inconveniences residents and students experience in their daily lives at the site," and added, "We will carefully review necessary improvements to pedestrian safety and school commuting environments and proceed with them without delay."
Yeongtong-gu plans to share resident opinions and facility improvement needs confirmed on site with related departments and develop improvement measures by reviewing on-site conditions and relevant procedures.
