Hwaseong Special City Opens 'PBA Team League Round 2'...9 Days of Billiards Competition Begins
Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun) held the opening ceremony for the 'Welcome Savings Bank PBA Team League Hwaseong Special City TOUR 2026-2027 Round 2' on the 12th at the Hwaseong General Sports Complex indoor gymnasium and entered nine days of intense competition.
The opening ceremony was attended by Hwaseong Special City Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun, PBA (Professional Billiards Association) officials, players and representatives from each team, and other distinguished guests.
Mayor Jeong welcomed the players and staff who visited Hwaseong Special City through his welcoming remarks and expressed hope for a successful tournament. He then participated in the commemorative cue shot and cheered on the players' performance.
The tournament will be held at the Hwaseong General Sports Complex indoor gymnasium through the 20th. Ten top-tier professional billiards teams—including Welcome Savings Bank Welcome Phoenix, Woori Financial Capital Woori WON Webbies, S.Y. Builders, NH Nonghyup Card NH Pay, Crown Hatae Raon, Hana Card Hana Pay, Harim Dragons, High One Resort High One Winners, Huons Healthcare Legend, and PBA Breakers—will participate and compete fiercely for the Round 2 championship.
On the final day of the tournament on the 20th, a trophy presentation and Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards will be held after the championship match.
Major matches will be broadcast live through sports specialty channels including SBS Sports, ENA Sports, Billiards TV, and Golf & PBA, as well as YouTube, allowing billiards fans unable to visit the venue to enjoy the exciting matches.
