Thousand Drones Take Flight at Gwanggyo Lake Park on the 9th…Fireworks Show and Busking Too
Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) will hold the 'Suwon Drone·Fireworks Festival' at Gwanggyo Lake Park from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 9th.
Under the theme 'Suwon's Night Blooms with Light,' the festival will express Suwon's past, present, and future through drones and fireworks, commemorating the 230th anniversary of the construction of Suwon Fortress.
In particular, this year the number of drones in operation has been increased to 1,000, enhancing the composition and expressiveness of the drone show. Following the drone show, a fireworks display will light up the night sky of Gwanggyo Lake Park. The drone and fireworks show can be watched live on Suwon City's official YouTube channel.
Busking will take place from 7:30 p.m. before the main event. The stage kicks off with the Samsung Electronics employee band 'Band Bucket List,' followed by appearances by singer Ryu Hyun-sang and 'The Ryu & Jeon Young-rang,' which combines traditional Korean music and contemporary music.
Festival admission tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis from 2 p.m. on the day of the festival at the lobby hall on the first floor of the Suwon Convention Center.
Suwon City plans to enhance night tourism content in Suwon and promote stay-type tourism activation through this festival, which utilizes the waterfront space and night scenery of Gwanggyo Lake Park.
A Suwon City official stated, "We have composed more diverse programs for the 2026-2027 'Visit Suwon Year,'" and added, "We hope many citizens and tourists will visit Gwanggyo Lake Park to enjoy Suwon's beautiful autumn night together."
