Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) will hold the 'Visiting King Jeongjo's Royal Procession Event' at Starfield Suwon for two days starting the 5th, and will give citizens a preview of the '2026 King Jeongjo's Royal Procession Joint Reenactment' scheduled to be held on October 4.

The Visiting King Jeongjo's Royal Procession Event is a program designed to compress the key figures and procession of King Jeongjo's royal journey, allowing citizens to experience the festival in advance in their everyday spaces. King Jeongjo, Hyegyeong Palace Hong, Jangyong Army soldiers, and musicians participate to reenact the royal procession and communicate with citizens.

At Starfield Suwon on the 5th and 6th, a 38-member royal procession will make two rounds at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. daily through the common areas of floors 1, 2, and 4. At the 4th floor Star Plaza Library, special performances of Martial Arts 24 and Korean traditional dance will be presented at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Photo sessions with citizens will take place after the performances.

The Martial Arts 24 performance will showcase Yedo, Geomgyojon, Geommu, Ssangsudo, and Woldo. In the Korean traditional dance performance, traditional dances such as Hwajochmu, Chaeseonhyangmu, and Taepyeongseongdae can be experienced on different dates.

The royal procession event will continue at the National Agricultural Museum and Seohog Park on September 12, Gwanggyo Lake Park on the 19th, and Haenggung-dong and Hwaseong Haenggung Palace on the 29th. The September 29 Hwaseong Haenggung Palace event will be linked with the press day of the '2026 King Jeongjo's Royal Procession Joint Reenactment' to heighten the atmosphere of the main event.

A Suwon City official stated, "This is an event prepared so that citizens can encounter King Jeongjo and the royal procession in their daily lives," and added, "We hope for much interest in the royal procession events unfolding throughout Suwon in September and the joint reenactment of King Jeongjo's royal procession on October 4."
